Mobile phone (cell phone) has now become one of primary needs for people, especially for those who have a high mobility. Many kinds of mobile phone brand featuring a variety of features that are attractive. But, one of mobile phone types that highly wanted is smart phone. Every new cell phone released appear to be a smart phone. If not, the phone was not getting enough attention. Shortly, if a cell phone is not able to check e-mail or support Twitter status update, it may not get many places in society today.

But in many developing countries, the 'ordinary' mobile phones still remains triumphant. That is the reason why Olive Communication in India dare to introduce its own-made phone. This phone is designed according to Indian conditions, which the electricity often die suddenly. Supersonic Car is No Longer a Fantasy

I guarantee that fiction movie fans must often have or had seen the car running with super-fast speeds, often called a supersonic car.I'm also sure that after that, they thought it's just a fantasy. Wait, just a minute!! The fantasy itself could be a real thing, right?

From a guest speaker ... British researchers are planning to make these cars and can target test the first time in 2011. The car named Bloodhound SSC (supersonic car) is designed to be sped on the ground with a speed of more than 1600 kilometers per hour. Of course, this car will only be tested on a flat surface such as salt lakes in the United States.

The project is done in secret since 18 months ago in a plane hangar in Bristol with the cost of making about 12 million pounds. Making cars is a dream of Drayson, a car lover who wants the younger generation interested in English and engineering sciences and technology. The same team broke the record fastest land vehicles in 1997. At that time, the British air force pilot Andy's Reef is a successful race car driver called the Thrust SSC up to 1228 kilometers per hour speed.
Bloodhound team plans to complete their projects less than a year. However, the desired speed records are expected to be achieved within three years. The engines that used by the car are the Eurofighter Typhoon jet with additional rocket thrust resulting in 20,000 kgf. Wheels, each 900 millimeters in diameter made of the strongest metals from high-quality titanium material. This car will use an accelerator to power the jet engine up to speed of 563 kilometers per hour. Then turn on the speed driven by a booster rocket. Racing engine will pump more than a tonne of hydrogen peroxide into the booster. Zoomed up to 1690 miles per hour acceleration is required only for 40 seconds. The car is 12.8 meters long and weighing 6.4 tonnes will be shot faster than a bullet projectiles.
Want to know what type of brake used? Two parachutes!

I wonder ... could the car later will run on the streets of Jakarta?

The Sensational Work of Nation's Children

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia has more than 17,000 large and small islands that surrounded by vast oceans. This circumstances are not just provide potential wealth to Indonesia but also risk and big problems. In fact, Indonesia is facing many threats and problems due to its geographical position, such as territorial conflicts with neighboring countries, smuggling of natural resources, ship hijacking, and terrorism.

To reduce the problems caused while helping to maximize control and security of the country, Indonesia needs an integrated security system that is applied to the form of radar. During the time, radar technology controlled by foreign parties. For many year, Indonesia get radar from other countries with, of course, very high cost. But not now! At least for the start.

SOLUSI247 together with the RCS-247 radar division (Radar & Communication Systems), successfully launched a national children work in the field of radar technology, a radar which is called INDRA.

The maritime radar 'INDRA' was built with the ability to detect and measure the distance of a ship by using the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology that bring out a sophisticated radar with very low transmit power. Because of that very low transmit power, INDRA could be operated anywhere and will not interfere with other devices in the vicinity.

On October 24, 2008, for the first time, INDRA was tested at Cilegon beach, Banten. In its first appearance, INDRA confirmed its existence as a maritime radar. This is evidenced by its ability to detected and measured accurately the distance of a ship that was sailing in the ocean.

By 2014, Indonesia has It's Own Rocket Launcher

Five years from now, Indonesia will have a rocket launcher satellite technology itself. The National Institute of Aviation and Outerspace (LAPAN) scheduled it can launch the rocket booster called the four-storeyed with a rocket booster Satellites (RPS) -420 for the first time in 2014 (but it is planned to be launched in 2012).

The rocket is being designed with two four-storeyed RPS in order to launch the satellite monitoring of Indonesian 2014. As a preface, LAPAN have been successfully launched a rocket RX-320 on 30 May 2008 and RX-420, on 2 July 2009, which was held at the Station Test Flying Pamengpeuk, West Java.

Until now, some of the process of the RPS-420 has been implemented and has been flight-tested although some still need more improvement.
RPS-420 is projected to first on the ability to orbit satellites in outer space, but not to load equipment for monitoring is in the air. If the RPS-420 project is successful, set up LAPAN new satellites to be launched.

In addition to the rocket, LAPAN also continue to develop satellite technology. LAPAN Tub-SAT (LAPAN A-1) which was launched in 2007 is the first satellite that most of the design and production was conduct by Indonesian engineers together with the Berlin University of Technology, Germany.

During this time, the launch of the satellites was in Shiharikota, India, with Indian-made rocket. LAPAN will still be using the missile India to launched LAPAN A-2 satellites that will be used for telecommunication. Betty, the Bionic Duck

Still remember of 80's television movie which told about a man whose half part of his body made from iron? Yup, you're right man. It's the six million dollar man! You know what?? Let him know that he now gets his rival/competitor, an unusual competitor. The bionic man get his competitor from a duck, or we should say a duckling ....... (?).

According to unwilling-known source, there was a duckling who found had broken-leg in Watermead, Buckinghamshire, England. After saw what happened to the duck, quickly the founder of the broken-leg duckling took it to the vet.

After going through several considerations, the team doctors finally decided to attach the metal legs for ducklings. They believe these efforts will greatly help the duck to be able to walk normally again. Team doctors then complete the duck leg with a steel bolt and screw to install the iron legs. Although not quite perfect, but the doctors believe too much that the duck will be able to walk normally as before.

later, the duckling was named Betty. It's a happy ending,. isn't it??? :)

Mobile Phone from Former Bottles

Mobile from Former Bottles?? Just Get out of this Town!! But, it could be happened.

Awareness of the environment is not absolutely the responsibility of the community, but also should be the responsibility of companies, especially companies that greatly contributed to the damage of this earth - including the phone companies.

Any news that, recently, a mobile company, M, had made mobile phone from waste bottles. The mobile phones will be exhibited and launched in Las Vegas, USA. But unfortunately, specifications and price are still be concealed. Also, still no word whether the phones will be marketed in Indonesia or not, and when.

Well, hopefully, the phones of waste bottles can reduce the impact of corruption on earth. And also, this phone could soon be marketed here, of course, at an affordable price of Indonesian people .... :)

The Invisible Robe of Harry Potter in Real World

The results of scanning electron microscopy showed three-dimensional structure of the metamaterial that developed by researchers at University of California

The miracle of Harry Potter's robe which can make the wearer is invisible has become a reality soon. Scientist have developed a meta-material which will guide any light that falling in to around the objects covered. This cause the object in robe is invisible.

For the first time, the researchers of di Berkeley University of California, USA, made the material in 3rd dimension structure which mean that the material now already can be used to make invisible robe like Harry Potter's to down the halls of Hogwarts without be discovered by people around him.

Similar materials newly developed previously could be made in two-dimensional structure of a very thin and can only be proven through the research laboratory. Another research team previously used plasmons containing particles in the electrically charged metal surface to absorb the light that falls.

Metamaterial that developed at the University of California allow the radio waves and light are about to continue to flow like water flows around a protruding rock in the river surface. This material is a mixture of metal and ceramic, Teflon or fiber composite.

The way it works is more advanced than stealth aircraft technology that is also turning waves into the wide angle so difficult to identify the radar. the metamaterial makes light falling on it is always deflected that never bounce. Because, according to the laws of physics objects visible to the eye only when there is light reflected objects and fall into the eye's retina. These materials can change the spreading of electromagnetic waves to produce a reflection in the opposite direction and has been engineered so that its structure has optical properties that are not found naturally.

Visible light waves only one that can be controlled. If electromagnetic waves, radio waves, infrared and X-rays can also be controlled, the technology is very useful for many applications in the field of information technology, medicine, until the military.

well...well...well.... I wonder what if it becomes true. What the world would say????
