Knowing about Rainbow

This natural phenomenon occurs only after rain. So beautiful, so inspiring a lot of songs, tales, and legends. But from the science’s view of point, the rainbow is very simple. It was just a mere optical physics. The key of the rainbow is a refraction of light. When refracted, the light will change direction. This distortion usually occurs when light moves from one medium to another. This happens because the light moves with different speeds in different mediums.
When entering a glass prism, the light will be deflected. Similarly, if exit from the prism. In addition to refract light, a prism separates white light into its color components. Different colors of light are different in frequency, and thus have a different velocity when entering a substance. The low speed of light inside the glass will be deflected more sharply when moving from air to glass, because the speed difference varies. Not surprisingly, the components that make up white light are separated based on frequency when passing through glass. In the prism, the light will be deflected twice, when entering and exiting, so that the spreading of light occurs. The drops of rainwater can refract and spread light like a prism. In the right conditions, this refraction forming rainbows.

Earth is Crying in Norway Ice Layer

The glacier, briefly, was like the other glaciers in the frozen Arctic. But in a closer observation, a painful face painted on the wall of melting ice, which was the crying and the flowing tears of river. Image of sad 'Mother Earth' that was seen by local residents during the process of melting, with ice that melt and snow falling into the sea below.

Figure draw on Austfonna ice Nordaustlandet located at Svalbard Islands, Norway would almost certainly be used for environmental activists to protest climate change. Sea-level rise caused by melting ice is one of the main worries of the impact of global warming. Experts have warned that countries that are in the lowlands will be below at the water surface.

The figure of 'Crying' Mother Earth was taken by a Navy photographer and lecturer of environmental Michael Nolan in an annual voyage to observe the glaciers and wild life around him. Jon Ove Hagen, a glacier expert who is also a member of the World Glacier Monitoring Bureau (World Glacier Monitoring Service / WGMS) and Geosains professor at the University of Oslo, Norway, has confirmed that the layer of ice that gives the image of 'Crying' Mother Earth is continually shrinking as much as 160 feet every year for decades. Hagen has studied Austfonna ice since 1988.

Austfonna is the largest ice shelf area in Norway, precisely on the island of Svalbard Nordaustlandet. Austfonna has a broad about 3000 square miles and so far is the largest ice sheet on Svalbard, and one of the largest in the Arctic.

The shrinkage of glacier surface in Austfonna in 12 years have averaged 160 feet per year. Geometry of the ice region is changing. The front continued to retreat, the bottom becomes thinner, with a depletion rate of three feet per year, while the interior thickened about 1.6 feet per year. Layer decreased about 1.6 cubic miles of ice every year.

Austfonna is the second largest area of ice sheet in Europe after Iceland and Vatnajvkull and classified seventh in the world.

Sun Storm 2012, The Activities Peak of Center Solar System

It's been a long time since last time I wrote in this blog, and I miss it to write again. Urrmm...let see what can I write. Hey, what if I write about things that related to the year 2012 prediction. Yup, that's it! I'm sure that you all have heard about 2012 prediction, or 2012 doomsday. Many people in this world believe that the year 2012 is the final day of the world we live in. But many more are convinced that this prediction is merely ordinary predictions that are not proven scientifically or religiously. But what will I write can be a reflection to all of us about this prediction.

According to National Institute of Aeronautics and Space of Indonesia, the peak solar activity that is predicted to occur in 2012 solar can cause a sun storms. The peak activity of the sun till htrowing billions of tons of particles, high-energy plasma, and electromagnetic wave radiation. Hurl particles and radiation that leads to the earth affects the atmosphere, technological systems, as well as human activities in space and earth.

From the events mentioned above, it could be happen that (small) doomsday will comes toward human being and others creature in the world. What do you think of that??

Well, There's Fish Can Make Cocoon

Did you know there are fish that can make a cocoon? I also myself just found out about it after reading on of news-onlines today. Lung Fish, that's its name, is fish could make chrysalis when forced to live without water. Lung Fish is the most unique fish. It can live a few days on land to make a cocoon of mud. Like its name, Lung Fish, it has similar organs lungs that enable life on land without water. To stay moist, this fish makes a cocoon from mud. Fish belonging to the monster fish are freshwater fish belonging to the rare, especially if an albino.

The length of Lung Fish can reach more than one meter. As carnivores, Lung Fish eat worms or small fish. Unique shape, like catfish, which have remaining legs and arms attached near the tail and near the head. Muzzle was unique, pig nose looks like a big hole.

It's mean that butterflies have rivals. Watch out Butterflies!! :)

Not Only Chameleon who Can Change Their Skin's Color

Do you know that the turtles has a chameleon-like ability? Yup, their color of skin and shells can shift to follow where they were. Just like a chameleons, this ability helps them to hide and escape from the predators.

John W. Rowe and his team from Alma College in Michigan were collect the female turtles which was carrying to a laboratory experiment. The turtles were then given an injection of oxytocin. The turtles then divided into two groups. One group placed on the dark and light for 160 days. The second group, originally placed in the dark and light for 80 days, then they were moved to another place with the opposite color for the next 80 days.

The researchers periodically measure the intensity of skin discoloration of turtles. On day 80, all of the turtle changes color to be dark or light according to where they live. On day 160, groups of turtles that are in control still shows the same color.

While other groups changed places quickly change the color of their skin color the same as the basis to which they belong. This results informed us that the turtles can perfectly follow the color of change process.

The First Spiders World's Vegetarian

Almost all species of spiders are predators who prey on species other animals, from insects to birds. But the kind of this spider somewhat unique and very, very rare. Among more than 40,000 species of spiders in the world, a spider that just discovered is probably the first species known to eat vegetation.

According to Kompas.com, the eight-legged animals that named Bagheera Kiplingi, life in Central America, especially in Mexico and Costa Rica. The vegetarian spider whose has body size of adult nails were preyed acacia leaf tip. He is also the first spider that known makes plants as their prey.

In order to obtain foods, they're quiet helped by the role of ants whose life also in acacias. No herbivores dare to come up as long as there are those ants. However, because the ants also eat the end of leaf, besides nectar, the spiders must do a certain strategy.

When hunting preys, the spiders should avoid the ants using net guards to move up and down. The spider is also building a nest at the base of an old acacia leaves that been rarely traveled by ants.

In addition to the eat leaf tip, the spiders was still other food such as larvae on ants and nectar. When they prey on ants they will pretend to be ants by doing zig-zag movements.

However, observations made using the video recording and chemical analysis showed the spider still get most of the food from plants. Their Mexico's population earn 90 percent of food from plant tissue and the remaining ant larvae, nectar, and others. While in Costa Rica's population earn 60 percent of food from the acacia leaves.

32 New Planets was Recently Founded

European astronomers announced that they have discovered 32 new planets orbiting a star outside our solar system and state that 40 percent or more of the stars like Sun have planets like that. The planets have sizes ranging from about five times the Earth up to five times Jupiter's. Not only that, the astronomers also discovered a number of other planets and they had promised to announce it later this year. The discovery made the number of planets discovered outside our solar system are about 400.

The team of astronomers used the HARPS spectrograph (Light Speed Planet Finder High Accuracy) mounted on the 3.6-meter telescope, European Southern Observatory (ESO) in La Silla, Chile. Spectrograph did not describe these planets directly, but scientists can calculate the size and mass to detect small changes in stellar vibrations caused by the gravitational pull of a small planet.

HARPS has discovered 75 planets orbiting 30 different stars. ESO team did not give detailed explanation about what stars are orbited by the new planet 32.

Betty, the Bionic Duck

Still remember of 80's television movie which told about a man whose half part of his body made from iron? Yup, you're right man. It's the six million dollar man! You know what?? Let him know that he now gets his rival/competitor, an unusual competitor. The bionic man get his competitor from a duck, or we should say a duckling ....... (?).

According to unwilling-known source, there was a duckling who found had broken-leg in Watermead, Buckinghamshire, England. After saw what happened to the duck, quickly the founder of the broken-leg duckling took it to the vet.

After going through several considerations, the team doctors finally decided to attach the metal legs for ducklings. They believe these efforts will greatly help the duck to be able to walk normally again. Team doctors then complete the duck leg with a steel bolt and screw to install the iron legs. Although not quite perfect, but the doctors believe too much that the duck will be able to walk normally as before.

later, the duckling was named Betty. It's a happy ending,. isn't it??? :)

Learn Threrapy Medicine from Locust

Do you knoe that humans and insects have a similarity in terms of brain disturbances that cause migraine, stroke and epilepsy. For that reason, scientists take advantage of this similarity with the analysis for the locust as a guide to find the appropriate treatment therapy for these diseases. Biologist from Queen's University found that this disruption health is closely related to disruption of brain function caused closure nerve cells.

Apparently, this is also felt by locusts when they have a comma after the exposure to weather extremes such as very hot temperatures and lack of oxygen.

Insects have the unique ability to survive at the time of entering the coma condition. And they do direct recovery independently. The way this works like a drug that leads directly to one of the target cells that cause pain.

his is the middle we develop. We mimic what the locusts and apply this method for migraine treatment, stroke and epilepsy in humans. Locusts have the ability to press the attack in the pain and minimize the impact of interference to 70 percent of the brain.

Results of this study showed that the grasshopper has a comma as an effort to rest a while back and collect the energy in the body when conditions are dangerous. Response, the brain cells that occurs in the locust is similar to that occur in humans at the time of the migraine.

The Antarctic is Melting, The World is Sinking??

Global Warming, the Antarctic continent, and the sinking world. What is it relationship?? But recently there are new concern related to side effect of global warming. There was a news that a bridge of ice in Antarctic, which hold the ice as big as Jamaica country was broke, and this increases the impact of global warming concern.

There are new indications that the ice sheet is likely to be separated from Antarctica. Satellite pictures of the latest from the European Space Agency (ESA) indicates that one of the ice bridge connecting the two plates Wilksin adjacent islands have collapsed.

The scientists said that global warming caused the collapse of the ice bridge. Plate has undergone shrinkage since the 1990s, but this is the first time lost a link that held in place.

British Antarctic Survey said that six layers of ice in the same part of the continent had been lost. The ESA satellite images show the mountains created a new ice floating in the sea in western Antarctic peninsula protruding from the continent towards the southern end of America's fault. Although they're not affect sea level, they increases concerns about climate change impacts in the Antarctic.

According to scientists, Antarctic Peninsula has experienced warming that have never been unprecedented before in the last 50 years. Several layers of ice shrank in the last 30 years, and six of them collapsed completely.

Urmm, what happen if Antarctic (and also North and South Pole) completely 'melt'?

Children With Autism May Learn From 'Virtual Peers'

Using "virtual peers" -- animated life-sized children that simulate the behaviors and conversation of typically developing children -- Northwestern University researchers are developing interventions designed to prepare children with autism for interactions with real-life children. Children with high-functioning autism may be able to give you a lecture on a topic of great interest to them but they can't carry on a 'contingent' -- or two-way -- conversation.

The researchers found that children with autism produced more and more "contingent" sentences when they spoke with the virtual peer, while their sentences did not become increasingly contingent when they were paired with the real-life children. Certainly the virtual peers didn't automatically make the best playmates for children with autism."The overall goal is for the children with autism to generalize the skills they learn in practice sessions with virtual peers to meaningful interactions with real-world children. But they hold promise that virtual peers can be useful in helping children with autism develop communication and social skills.

virtual peers have some distinct advantages over real-life children when it comes to practicing social skills. For starters, children with autism often like technology. A major challenge for children with autism is learning the rules of social behavior that typically developing children seem to learn intuitively. With them we hope that they can apply their newly acquired skills to real-life situations.

2012: The Most Sacred and Dangerous Year??

The rookery of year 2012 prediction have been lasting for long time ago, but it's extends for around 10 last years. The investigation about the prediction had been conducted by experts form various science fields and dozens of book has published.

Highly accurate astronomical observations over the centuries genius Maya astronomers presage, date of birth 21/12/2012 will be a new era. The most sacred time and most dangerous in the history of Earth.

Is it true??!!

According to the Maya Nation, On the 21/12/2012, the solar system with the Sun as its center, like the Mayans believed, would cover the view of the Earth's center of the Milky Way. Ancient Mayan astronomers considered the center of the Milky Way is as the uterus. The conviction was supported by many contemporary astronomers prove that was where the creation of the galaxy stars.

Currently, a number of scientific research institutions of the atmosphere, space, and technology in the West suspect a black hole right in the center of mass sucking, energy, and time, which became the raw material creating a future star.

For the first time in 26,000 years, the energy flowing into the Earth from the center of the Milky Way will be disrupted on 21/12/2012, precisely at 11:11 tonight. All that caused a small shock to the rotation of the Earth. The Mayans believed, anything short of breaking the galactic center beam would destroy the balance of the vital mechanisms of the body of the Earth and all creatures, including humans.

Some interpret 21/12/2012 as "Resurrection", but many others interpret it as contemplative. In the anthology The Mystery 2012: Predictions, Prophecies & Possibilities (2007), expert computer systems to bridge the space science and spirituality, Gregg Braden, states, that the important thing is not what will happen, but what emerged from the collective potential of a holistic understanding and awareness of who we are in the middle of the Universe Kingdom.

So, the choice is in the hands of men: let the planet Earth were destroyed or continue its evolution. Let us ponder this ....

Solar Eclipse Ring: The Phenomenon that Happened First Time in Indonesia??

Solar Eclipse Ring (SER) had just happened yesterday. And we should be proud of the emergence of this natural phenomenon. Why? Because this phenomenon is the first in the year 2009 and the first occurred in Indonesia. Is it true??

Together with Australian, Indian, and Madagascar. we should be proud of ourselves. Not only was the first time this has happened in the year 2009, but only these countries that managed to see (bypassed by) the SER.

GMC, better known as the eclipse of Saros 131, was first seen on August 11, 1125, and this year is the first GMC visible from Indonesia. But for those who had not experienced to see it, please don't worry because thi SER will appear again in February 2010 (according to NASA, it will appear at 9-2-2010) and July 2010 (7-2-2010).

But behind all this, we must realize and believe that this phenomenon of the SER, and all natural phenomenons that have happened and will happen is a sign of the greatness of Mighty God. So, we should always ' look at' Him.

Male Desire Can be Smelled from His body odor?

Did you know that male desire on woman could be known just from the smell of his sweat (smell of armpit? :) ) which be taken out by him??

It's not only from male gesture which could describe his heart's desire on women. Smell of male's sweat which come from his body also well-off to signalize his feeling on female he met.

It's definitely so many people who know that human have chemical compound like animal do that capable to communicate its sexual desire on its opposite sex, which name is FEROMON. Unfortunately, scientists said that feromon is only could be produced through human's subconscious so that couldn't be detected obviously.

But, for female, the sexual sweat of male may activated female's zone of brain. especially the zone that may recognize human's emotion and feeling that involve smelling sense, social and emotion responses. That zone lie on orbitofrontal cortex and fusiform context, and bring out differentiation of reaction which caused by female when they smell male's sweat.
I wonder ...... whether female's sweat may invite male's desire?? :)

Well, watch out guys!! If you have sexual desire on nice female, please ..... no sweat on your body. :)

Mobile Phone from Former Bottles

Mobile from Former Bottles?? Just Get out of this Town!! But, it could be happened.

Awareness of the environment is not absolutely the responsibility of the community, but also should be the responsibility of companies, especially companies that greatly contributed to the damage of this earth - including the phone companies.

Any news that, recently, a mobile company, M, had made mobile phone from waste bottles. The mobile phones will be exhibited and launched in Las Vegas, USA. But unfortunately, specifications and price are still be concealed. Also, still no word whether the phones will be marketed in Indonesia or not, and when.

Well, hopefully, the phones of waste bottles can reduce the impact of corruption on earth. And also, this phone could soon be marketed here, of course, at an affordable price of Indonesian people .... :)

The eye of the storm

Vortex at Saturn’s southern pole. Image: NASA/JPL/Space Science Inst

The images above, captured in July, are ten times more detailed than any taken before of this phenomenon. Experts say the vortex is not unlike a hurricane here on Earth…except it rages all the time, and it is anchored to the pole. And it is much larger than any terrestrial storm, about the diameter of the Earth itself, with wind speeds nearing 350 miles per hour.

Like a hurricane, the vortex is awash in convective atmospheric turnover, with warmer gases being pumped up and away from the interior. A detailed image of the eye itself show smaller storms within it…in previous images these just looked like puffy clouds.

Scientists are interested in studying this vortex because it will help them better understand the dynamics of Saturn’s atmosphere. It’s yet another fascinating target for Cassini as it continues its tour of the Saturn system — the rings, the moons (especially Titan, which is often compared to the primordial Earth, and the geyser moon Enceladus), and these intriguing weather systems.

The Invisible Robe of Harry Potter in Real World

The results of scanning electron microscopy showed three-dimensional structure of the metamaterial that developed by researchers at University of California

The miracle of Harry Potter's robe which can make the wearer is invisible has become a reality soon. Scientist have developed a meta-material which will guide any light that falling in to around the objects covered. This cause the object in robe is invisible.

For the first time, the researchers of di Berkeley University of California, USA, made the material in 3rd dimension structure which mean that the material now already can be used to make invisible robe like Harry Potter's to down the halls of Hogwarts without be discovered by people around him.

Similar materials newly developed previously could be made in two-dimensional structure of a very thin and can only be proven through the research laboratory. Another research team previously used plasmons containing particles in the electrically charged metal surface to absorb the light that falls.

Metamaterial that developed at the University of California allow the radio waves and light are about to continue to flow like water flows around a protruding rock in the river surface. This material is a mixture of metal and ceramic, Teflon or fiber composite.

The way it works is more advanced than stealth aircraft technology that is also turning waves into the wide angle so difficult to identify the radar. the metamaterial makes light falling on it is always deflected that never bounce. Because, according to the laws of physics objects visible to the eye only when there is light reflected objects and fall into the eye's retina. These materials can change the spreading of electromagnetic waves to produce a reflection in the opposite direction and has been engineered so that its structure has optical properties that are not found naturally.

Visible light waves only one that can be controlled. If electromagnetic waves, radio waves, infrared and X-rays can also be controlled, the technology is very useful for many applications in the field of information technology, medicine, until the military.

well...well...well.... I wonder what if it becomes true. What the world would say????

A Great Nature: the Form of Greatness of God

Existence of The Creator is the standard substance and believe in Him is the character of innocent souls. From this, it's able to said that the first feelings that arise in people when he looked at himself and the nature around is the sense of the existence of a great power that have controlled, maintained, managed the nature and life, and act at will Himself.

Trust and confidence someone of something is enough if the feeling of nature in accordance with the things that achieved by the researchers through the right methodology. If the study was not influenced by passion and fanaticism, it will lead to achieving results in accordance with the feelings of nature, and certainly will deliver and believe in the Lord to all believers by the Lord set correctly.

Many scientists and philosophers of the past who believed in God's existence after a proper scientific methods of thinking as an effort to fulfill the needs of nature and human reason, far from the illusion of an anti-God philosophy is misleading.

There's no doubt that human efforts to find a greater sense of reason and a better setting than the settings to help interpret the mini style is evidence of the strength and the great setting, and setting the power of God.
